This is useful for you to modify your program to get the maximum benefit.
Most undergraduate programs do not require any type of internship or practical. If your program does not, consider contacting local engineering companies to view internship opportunities and summer. This will give you the opportunity to gain practical experience while networking with potential employers.
When you go to college, remember that you may need to start from the bottom entry level and apprenticeship program. It 'important not to get frustrated when you do not get the job pays more in the software industry right out of school. Get the training is only half the battle. You must have experience.
